Honeymoon Bay, Water Island to Red Hook, St Thomas

On our way out of honeymoon Bay we motored past Georges’ boat “Katlo” to say goodbye before heading to Red Hook on the east side of Saint Thomas. Red Hook is a busy Harbor with ferries departing regularly. The American Yacht Harbor Marina complex includes a shopping village with a dive shop, convenience stores and businesses for provisioning. Moe’s grocery store was awesome. There was a good selection of fresh produce, meats and dry goods, the best since the US. The dive shop filled our tanks and repaired one.

Before going ashore Dan was able to get in touch with Hammond from “Lucky Lady” and made arrangements for our life raft to be left at Falmouth Marina in Antigua. “Lucky Lady” was going to return to Fort Lauderdale on December 10th and we will be somewhere in the area of St Marten.

Later in the day, Dan spent hours on the phone again with a technician from the satellite phone store and from the optimizer company. This time he did get things to connect. So this was a productive day and we stayed the night anchored in the bay under a full moon.
